Dave Flaig, Senior PastorFamily: Wife, Heather. Three boys: Zach, Matt and Josh. Heather homeschools their boys. Dave’s career started in 1988 and has spanned two states. After serving as Jr. High Associate Pastor at First Baptist of Lakewood in Long Beach, California and receiving his bachelor of Arts degree from Biola University, Dave moved to Colorado to pursue his masters of Divinity degree at Denver Seminary. At that time, he also accepted a position as a part-time College Pastor at Bear Valley Baptist Church. After completion of his masters of Divinity, Dave joined Bear Creek Church of Lakewood, Colorado, as the Student Ministry Pastor. In 2001, Dave felt God calling him to serve outside of youth ministry, which led him to accept an offer from his home church, The Church at Rocky Peak in Chatsworth, California. As Executive Pastor of Ministries, Dave worked with all ministries and had particular impact on Children’s Ministry, Adult Seniors Ministry, College and Singles Ministry Network, Parenting Ministry and Young Singles Group. In two years, Dave increased the Young Singles Group from 60 to 120. In 2003, lay-offs occurred and Dave was let go. As God is always faithful, he used this season to give Dave an unplanned four month sabbatical and faith-stretching journey after 15 years in ministry. In late 2003, he accepted the call at Shepherd of the Hills Church. At Shepherd of the Hills, Dave served as Lead Pastor of the Vine/Emerging Generation Pastor. The Vine, a contemporary and biblical worship experience for college students and young adults, grew in attendance with Dave as the primary preaching pastor. Dave also developed the Torch Magazine and organized concerts for the Emerging Generation. In addition, Dave was the Purpose Driven Life Pastor, which involved leading the church through the 40 Days of Purpose. During this time, Dave served as the Campus Pastor of the Westside Los Angeles multi-site location that went from 50 to 450 in a period of nine months.
